Westminster Cathedral Tour

25 June 2023

14:00 -15:00

A Byzantine building in Central London? Yes, just minutes away from Victoria Station stands Westminster Cathedral – an outstanding example of Christian Byzantine architecture and an oasis of calm and tranquility.

Designed by the eminent Victorian architect, John Francis Bentley, and completed in only eight years (1895-1903), Westminster Cathedral stands in sharp contrast to its Gothic near-neighbour, Westminster Abbey.

This brick and Portland stone exterior, flanked by a Bell tower 87 metres high, houses a collection of mosaics which span more than one hundred years and features marbles from over 2120 countries of the world.

Opinion is divided on whether the internal decoration is complete or not. Why not take a tour and decide for yourself?
