The grand unveiling of 3 years of research put into practice.

Metropolitan Workshop was founded as a vehicle for productive collaboration. In 2020, we published our first collaborative research paper, called 'A New Kind Of Suburbia', which considered from a number of professional perspectives how suburbia might respond to the challenges of the 21st century.

Then, in 2022, we published a collaborative research paper entitled ‘People Powered Places’, which critically appraised contemporary methods of community engagement, to uncover what an exemplary engagement process might look like.

Our 2023 exhibition brings together exciting new projects where our research has been integral to the design process and fundamental to the project success.
