Reimagining Place: The Role of Public Art

14 June 2023

17:30 -20:00

Creativity has the power to change people and places for the better, public art is often inspired by the past, present, and future imaginings of a place. Art has the potential to explore local communities’ sense of belonging, identity and perceptions of their neighbourhood, particularly in areas undergoing change.

Following the unveiling of the Brent Cross Town Substation by IF_DO and Lakwena earlier this year, and as Barnet Council co-produces its cultural strategy for the next five years, this discussion will examine the role that art can play in reimagining places for the future.

The event includes an exclusive tour by IF_DO to see the artwork up close before the panel discussion.

Chaired by Sadie Morgan OBE, Founding Director, dRMM

the panel includes:

Chrissy Cullen, Place Marketing Director at Related Argent
Synthia Griffin, Creative Economy Project Officer at Barnet Council
Thomas Bryans, Director at IF_DO
Hanna Benihoud, Artist & Architect

This is a free event but all attendees must sign up in advance for both the event and tour.
