Arup welcomes communities, local authorities, developers and fellow planners and designers to join an open dialogue on people-positive placemaking interventions in local neighbourhoods.
We have been exploring opportunities to improve shared “in common” spaces within our neighbourhood in Fitzrovia, and their contribution in creating a resilient, green and thriving neighbourhood.
Neighbourhoods within cities offer a unique chance to drive rapid transformational change and achieve targeted priorities. By leveraging the benefits of agility and scale, ‘in common’ spaces can pioneer new policies, trial innovative partnerships, enhance citizen participation, and test new technologies or products to support the overarching vision. This creates an ideal environment to develop replicable approaches that can be scaled city-wide and beyond.
How should we design urban spaces in our neighbourhoods and make them accessible places that best serve the needs of our local, diverse communities?
Join us at Arup's newly designed offices in Fitzrovia for an insightful conversation between leading industry practitioners and local community stakeholders on making green and thriving neighbourhoods happen.
Arup’s design team will build upon existing work that looks at how to improve public and shared spaces to achieve wider benefits for communities. This includes drawing our recent work with The Fitzrovia Partnership and our research with C40 Cities on green and thriving neighbourhoods.
