Sanchez Benton Architects will present their Holyrood Street kiosk and garden, now known as Low Line Louis. This ten year meanwhile project adjoining a leftover bin yard on a flank wall owned by Southwark Council recently received a Civic Society Award. Architects and partners including the Council and Team London Bridge will present how the kiosk forms part of a wider public realm strategy for Holyrood Street, an emerging destination on the Low Line which runs alongside the mighty Victorian railway viaduct. The kiosk is at once joyous and functional. Taking cue from continental street kiosks, the entirely demountable scarlet timber building is actually a giant planter with a funky café/bar at ground level and stepped terraces of native herbs, perennials and climbers crowning it. Come along and we invite you to stay for a happy hour cocktail.
Architects Carlos Sanchez and Declan Corbett from Sanchez Benton Architects will present the kiosk, supported by project partners.
Enjoy the talk, and then enjoy a happy hour drink at the kiosk afterwards.
Join us at 14 June 1700 – 1745 or 1800 – 1845.
