Closing the Green Gap in Tottenham Hale

24 June 2023

13:00 -15:30

How can we tackle the barriers that prevent people from using parks and open spaces?

The Lee Valley Regional Park is a 10,000 acre network of marshes, parks and waterways which borders the eastern edge of Tottenham. Despite having this expansive open space on their doorstep, residents here are some of the most deprived of access to green space in London.

A growing network of citizens are working with Haringey Council to tackle this inequality and enable more people to enjoy spending time outdoors and access the health and wellbeing benefits that can bring.

This tour will explore the emerging green network between Tottenham High Road and the Lee Valley, highlighting completed projects and plans-in-progress for the parks, streets and spaces along the way.

Tour stops:
• Chesnut Road Linear Park
• Down Lane Park – masterplan and community hub
• Ashley Road – place in progress
• River Lee Bridges
• Ferry Lane SUDs Scheme
• The Paddock – Community Nature Reserve
